Kid City is one of several projects Mark created with elementary school students during a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts residency between 1996 and 2004. Projects were created using students drawings of local history, then translated in wood and etched glass. The project took place at Lorane Elementary School, and was installed in the library in 1996.

Similar projects were completed in Anna B. Pratt Elementary in Philadelphia, Erdenheim Elementary in Erdenheim, Walton Farms Elementary in Lansdale, Twin Valley Elementary in Elverson, Bala Cynwyd Middle School, Friends Select in Philadelphia, Wyomissing Hills Elementary, Boyertown East Junior High School, and Springfield Township High School.
